Alex completed his degree in the photography program at Ryerson University in 2007 and immediately launched his photography business. Alex’s major projects challenged conventional methods of image making and viewing. Although many of his major projects were conceptually focused, Alex also developed a keen interest for street photography during this time.
Alex was able to apply the technical and theoretical concepts he had developed in school and use them to create a fresh look on candid event photography. He shot events and weddings through his own company and was also contracted by Azure Blue Photography as a primary photographer for three years. In 2008, Alex also was commissioned to shoot three Power Within events across Canada featuring Bill Clinton. Although his main focus was on events and weddings during this period, Alex also photographed portraits of business professionals on location and in studio environments.
In late 2010, Alex became one of two official photographers shooting for the Ontario Liberal Party. He travelled around the province shooting events with Ontario’s Premier, Dalton McGuinty. Alex was also responsible for many studio and riding specific portraits of Liberal MPP's and candidates. When not shooting, Alex archived and maintained the Liberals’ photo archive and online photo database from his office at the Queen’s Park Legislature building in downtown Toronto.
In 2011, Alex’s photos were twice published in Canadian Family Physician Magazine as cover features. This website is meant to showcase Alex's work as a professional photographer, but also to display new and old work he has done outside of professional sphere. He is currently taking freelance work in all aspects of photography and can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
